Work Release

WORK RELEASE AGREEMENT

1. All inmates on Work Release status must furnish their own transportation to and from work. The distance you travel will determine the travel time that you are allowed.

2. Inmates will NOT make any unauthorized stops while traveling to and from work.

3. Inmates will be charged for their room and board at the rate of $25.00 per day.

4. All medical expenses such as doctor appointments, medication, and dentist visits will be the responsibility of the inmate.

5. The use of alcohol or illegal drugs is prohibited at all times and may result in criminal prosecution. The Lee County Sheriff's Office may perform random drug and alcohol tests. Refusal to submit to these tests will result in immediate suspension of Work Release privileges.

6. If an inmate fails to return to the jail in the allotted time, without prior approval, the situation will be handled as an escape and appropriate criminal charges will be filed with the court. If you are going to be late, phone the Sheriff's Office.

7. Normal Work Release hours will be based upon an eight (8) hour workday, five (5) days per week. If your work requires more than this allotted time, your Work Release Order must reflect this.

8. All wages, cash and paychecks MUST be turned into the Jail Administrator. All money will be placed in the inmate account. At all times a minimum of one (1) week of Work Release money will be on account in advance and due on Sunday each week. Failure to keep your account current will result in a loss of Work Release privileges and possibly a loss of accumulated good time credit.

9. At the end of each workweek, bring a schedule of your next workweek assignment to the Jail. Your supervisor or foreman must sign the schedule. Self employed persons must bring a schedule of job location and times.

10. In addition to these rules, inmates with Work Release privileges must follow all  other Jail Rules and Regulations.

11. REMEMBER, Work Release is a PRIVILEGE that may be revoked by the Sheriff, Chief Deputy or Jail Administrator for any violation of this agreement.
